Meeting 154 Disney Characters at Disneyland Paris

Twirling and giggling
Chatting up and dancing
Posing and vlogging
These are a few of my favorite things

Wait… Did you literally talk to Mickey for 5 minutes straight? How do you chat so much with a character? I get embarrassed meeting a character, how do I engage with them? These are just a few questions I get regularly through my instagram and vlogs. So today, I’m gonna write you through some ways how I interact with characters and I’m also gonna show you all the characters I’ve met at Disneyland Paris. Let’s chat!

My tips and tricks in short

1. Hello! Goodmorning! How are you!

The first and most important thing to have a cool interaction, is to actually talk to the character. Don’t go with an awkward wave or just a hello! Say hello and ask how the character is doing that day

2. Let me tell you ’bout the birds and the bees

You don’t have to talk science with a character. After asking how the character is, you can move on to chit chatting about small things like their locations in the park, the weather, the season that’s going on at that time. This might seem weird, but I’ll come up with more detailed examples further in this post.

3. Know your Disney

An easy way to get interacting with a character is to chat about their story or their role in the parade or a show that’s currently going on in the park.

4. Please and thank you

Instead of shoving your autograph book or photo camera in respectively the character or ACC (Accompagneur Character, or Character attendant) face, do ask polity if they want to take a photo or put an autograph in your book and say thank you when they did

5. Be original

You can always try to rock a cool pose with a character, so character will be up for it, others will not be as happy (Darth Vader for example) when you try to be too cool for them!

Now let’s get on to some examples and more details!

Talking with face characters

Talking with face characters is probably the easiest one out. Face characters mostly include Princesses and their Princes, some Disney Villains and characters like Peter Pan, Jack Skellington etc. The most important thing is that these character will talk back to you when you try to interact, they will tell you stories or tell you about their they. They might even ask you what you’ve been up to that day. You can ask how their respective princes, sidekicks or foes are! Still unsure? I’m gonna give some examples below, these are phrases I’ve actually used and led to great interaction:

To Belle: ‘Have you read any new books recently?’
To Cinderella: ‘How are Jaq and Gus doing?’
To Jack Skellington: ‘What’s this?’ *while pointing at stuff in photolocation*

Talking with ‘fur’ characters

Fur characters are characters who will not talk back to you. People usually find them harder to interact with and talk to, but if you just roll with it, it will come natural after a while. You can talk to them about their story or their day, say you have seen them in a show. It’s harder to ask them stuff about where their friends are hanging out, although sometimes it can lead to cool interaction too. Like at RunDisney, I yelled pull the lever at Kronk and he came chasing me while I ran on. This is only one bit of cool stuff that can happen. One time Mickey even took over my vlog! I played to floor is lava with my Disney friends, the options are endless. I must admit, it’s not easy making up stories with the character, but it is so much fun, as you can roll with it as you wish, because you do most of the talking anyway.

To Goofy: Have you been on any roadtrips with Max lately?

To Mickey: we met Minnie earlier, she looks extremely pretty today

To Donald: Who’s the best, you or Mickey?

To Chip and Dale: how’s Clarice? Who’s her favorite out of you two?

The list #153

So to end off this post, I will post a picture with every single Disney character I’ve met. Please note that I have only been to Disneyland Paris and have never been to a private event. So all these characters were out and about in Disneyland Paris at some point between 1995 and today…
